Mill Village Ministries Celebrates Its New Community Hub
In the heart of West Greenville, Mill Village Ministries proudly unveils its new community hub — a much-anticipated culmination of over 12 years of effort. This impressive $5.5+ million redevelopment project has transformed a 14,000-square-foot building on Pendleton Street into a vibrant space that brings together the organization’s four key enterprises: Mill Village Farms, Village Wrench, Village Launch, and Village Engage.
Connecting Community and Services
The hub serves as a beacon for community support, promising to Repair 15,000 bikes, Train 2,200 local teenagers, Deliver 230,000 produce boxes, and Launch 1,700 entrepreneurs by the year 2030. Each of the four enterprises serves a unique role in strengthening the local community:
- Mill Village Farms: A nonprofit farm focused on providing healthy produce and educational opportunities.
- Village Wrench: A full-service bike shop dedicated to repairs and providing job training for youths.
- Village Launch: Offering financial literacy programs to foster entrepreneurship among under-resourced individuals.
- Village Engage: Advancing equity through community engagement programs.
A Vision for the Future
As the executive director, Dan Weidenbenner, expressed, this hub is a dream realized not just for the organization but for the entire community. By consolidating these vital services, Mill Village Ministries aims to enhance efficiency and offer a more comprehensive support network for those in need.
Cultural and Urban Revitalization
